Welcome to Bessie E. Owens Primary - Home of the Brilliant Bobcat Scholars!

Bessie E. Owens Primary School is the G.A.T.E. Magnet School for the Bakersfield City School District.  Owens Primary is a K-3 campus, with the exception of the One-Day G.A.T.E. students who are in grades 3-6.  The campus serves approximately 600 students who either reside in our neighborhood or are bused in from other areas to attend G.A.T.E.  Both regular education students and G.A.T.E. students attend Owens Primary, or the 4-6 campus, Owens Intermediate.  Owens Primary is located at 815 Potomac and our phone number is 631-5420.
