Artist’s Name:
Georges Seurat
Date and Place of Birth:
He was born in Paris in 1859.
Artist’s style or technique:
Scientific experimentation, breaking new ground with his tiny points of color with every stroke. stiff, formal, and stylised, the work literally shimmered with light.
Who influenced him:
Though influenced by the Impressionists, he lacked their spontaneous temperament.
What I think about him:
I think George Seurat was a good artist because he drew a picture called Bathing at Asnieres. It was very colorful and artistic. The type of drawing he did was beautiful. It takes a lot of patience. One of his paintings took 2 years to do. He was a very good artist!

Threats to the Reef
There are many threats to the Coral Reef. These are some of the things that are dangerous to the reef. Many of the threats are caused by human activity. People step on coral then they break of pieces of it. Another threat to the reef is ships. The men on the ship drop the anchors and then the anchor lands on the coral, breaking off big chunks of coral.
Pollution in the water is a very big threat to the reef also. One of the problems is acid rain. The acid comes from our cars which rises up into the air and gets mixed in the rain which comes down as acid rain. Then that rain comes down and poisons the coral and then the coral eventually dies. If all that coral dies out the fish will eat the coral and then they will get poisoned. Our sailors go and catch the fish then we eat it and get poisoned. Then all hope will be lost and we will get very sick. This is why we need to take great care of our ocean and coral reef.
Some Organizations That Study the Coral Reefs
There are many organizations right now that are studying the coral reef. These organizations are Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and Protection Act, the International Center for Living Aquatic Resources Management, and The International Coral Reef Innitiative (ICRI)
The Reef as an Ecosystem
Coral reef ecosystems are among the most oldest and diverse ecosystems in the world. The coral reef is now referred to as the rainforest of the ocean. Virtually all reef-dwelling corals have a symbiotic relationship with algae called zooxanthella. The plant- like algae live inside the coral polyps and performs photo-synthesis, producing food which is shared with the coral. The mention of the coral reef generally brings to mind warm colors, colorful fishes, and, clear waters. However, the reef itself is actually a component of large ecosystems.
